The Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni Association (PIMA), the largest and the strongest MBA Alumni network in Sri Lanka, announced the appointment of its new Executive Committee for the year 2019/2020 at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on the 22nd of March, 2019 at the auditorium of the Post Graduate Institute of Management (PIM). 

Accordingly, Jayalal Hewawasam was elected as the new President of PIMA. He takes the helm from the outgoing President Dinesh Hamangoda, and will be responsible for executing the overall strategic plan of PIMA. Hewawasam, a successful corporate leader, who has made his mark among the country’s top business community, brings with him many decades of experience and expertise. He is the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Assetline Insurance Brokers (Private) Limited. Denzil Perera, a Marketer by profession, (Currently serves as the General Manager – Hayley’s Aventura IRM) assumed duties as Vice President. Shermi Fernando assumed duties as the new Secretary of PIMA with a background in integrated risk management, while Shiranthi Thevarapperuma, a well experienced finance professional was elected as Treasurer. The outgoing President, Dinesh Hamangoda will serve as the immediate past President. 

The newly appointed Executive Committee comprises of 10 members: Chandana Ekanayake, Lalinda Ariyaratne, Nilufa Nizam, Dr Viruli De Silva, Janaka Nonis, Thimira Manamendra, Ramesh Dassanayake, Naveendra Rajapakshe, Nilam Hallaldeen, and Indika Premathunga. They are professionals from various disciplines and bring with them, a wealth of experience that enhances the overall quality of the new PIMA Exco.
